Health care groups provide benefits to both consumers, employees

While the health care rhetoric continues to gain reaction from both parties and political pundits, locally, health care groups are creating jobs and showing more buoyancy as the economic downturn continues.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the health care industry is one of the top 10 fastest growing areas for employment over the next decade. More than 14 million jobs were created in health care in 2008 and more than 3 million jobs will be health care related through 2018.

This is good news for Nevadans, where the unemployment rate has hovered around 14 percent.

But jobs are plentiful at HealthCare Partners of Nevada, said Hartley White, the company’s vice president of human resources.

Shriners Hopsitals for Children Visits Las Vegas Saturday

LAS VEGAS — Children with serious illnesses often have trouble traveling long distances for medical care. The hardships can be overwhelming for families struggling with rising health care costs. Saturday a special outreach clinic was making a difference in those children’s lives.

A lot of the children at the outreach clinic would have to travel out of state to California or Utah to see doctors. Saturday, doctors from Shriners Hospitals for Children in Los Angeles came to them at a clinic providing tender loving care.

Please join us for HealthCare Partners of Nevada Senior Day at the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open Thursday, September 29, 2011.

Beginning Monday, August 29th seniors 55+ can pick up complimentary tickets at any of our 40 clinics throughout the valley in Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson, Boulder City and Pahrump. For a list of clinic locations click here.

Complimentary tickets are only valid on HealthCare Partners Senior Day. Valid ID will be required to pick up tickets. Tournament tickets are required for admission. Upon admission, seniors 55+ will be invited to visit the Crimson Links Oasis Island, a Hawaiian-themed, air conditioned, luxury tent for light refreshments.

First round professional competition begins at approximately 7 a.m. at TPC Summerlin.
